As we continue to gather new information on the COVID-19 pandemic, our team continues to update our processes in order to maintain compliance with the recommendations of Canada’s public health authorities, for the safety of our clients, the members of our firm, and the community at large.
As of April 3, 2020, the Ontario government has declared that professional and social services that support the legal and justice system are an essential service. As lawyers, we fall under this umbrella. Accordingly, our firm remains available to provide various legal services for new and existing clients. Over the past few weeks, our team has transitioned to work remotely, and so we will be available to provide advice and other legal services via email, phone, mail, fax, and video conference.
The Coronavirus situation has impacted the justice system so as to force closures and delay the progression of various cases. We constantly receive updates on how this situation is affecting the legal system in order to advise our clients of the potential impact on our clients and our clients’ businesses. This is a novel situation, that requires us to adapt.
Our hearts go out to all those affected by this COVID-19 crisis. Through patience and care, we hope that this situation will be resolved soon.
